I am Juliane Wesselmann, a PhD candidate in Political Science at Trinity College Dublin, in the School of Social Sciences and Philosophy.
My research examines how gender stereotypes shape political voting behavior across Europe, with a focus on comparing these patterns across different cultural contexts. I am particularly interested in understanding how these stereotypes influence voter perceptions and actions, and how these dynamics differ between European countries. Therefore, I am employing quantitative methods, such as experimental designs, vignette surveys, and mixed-method approaches, to explore these complex political and social questions.
I hold an MSc in International Politics and a BSc in International Business from Maastricht University and have experience working in a range of diverse and international environments, including India, Taiwan, and Brussels. These experiences have deepened my interest in understanding the dynamics of cross-cultural differences and interactions.
Beyond my academic pursuits, I enjoy the vibrant stand-up comedy scene in Dublin and hiking through Ireland’s beautiful natural landscapes.
If any of these topics resonate with you, I’d love to hear from you!
